The International Pineapple Organisation (IPO) is to hold its second Global Pineapple Conference in Tampa on 19-20 March 2014.
Hosted by Port Tampa Bay, the event brings together key stakeholders in the pineapple industry, including several leading growers, importers and processors, as well as transportation and logistics providers.
IPO said the conference provides a forum to discuss the major issues impacting the pineapple industry today, including market trends, transportation and logistics, technology and sustainability issues. It will also include a presentation by the US Department of Agriculture on the Pineapple Research and Promotion Board.
The inaugural event was held in November 2013 in Costa Rica, one of the world’s top pineapple producing nations.
“Port Tampa Bay is pleased to host this thought-provoking conference, which will bring together the movers and shakers in the pineapple industry,” said Paul Anderson, port president and CEO.
