The Syrian administration has signed an agreement with Russia for effective cooperation in energy, irrigation, agriculture, industry, transport, oil and trade, reports Sputnik News.
According tothe Syrian ministry of economy, these deals will help create favourable conditions forproducers withtax authorities, customs and banks, while facilitating payments.
The agreement will also see the organisation of local and international exhibitions.
Syrian exports to Russia will include vegetables, fruit and textiles, with oil products, chemicals and fertilisers heading in the opposite direction.
Syria’s ministry ofeconomy announced that it would facilitate trade byopening up direct banking channels with Russia.
According to the report, air services will be established betweenSyria’s Mediterranean port ofTartus, where Russia has boasted a naval facility since 1971, and ports in Russia.
