Around 1,500 members of the Swedish Port Workers union last week launched a seven-day boycott of Israeli ships and cargo at all Sweden's ports, which handle over 95 per cent of the country's foreign trade, according to Port2Port.
The action, which is due to end today, was staged as a protest against the Israeli navy's recent attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla.
On the first day of the boycott, Port2Port reports, dockworkers refused to handle about a dozen cargo containers at a southwestern port.
Officials said they expected the boycott to have a minimal impact on Swedish imports of Israeli goods, which are mostly made up of fruit and vegetables.
