UK-based agtech company AgrigateOne, known as AG1, has acquired LogisticDocuments.com, a Netherlands-based SaaS provider for supply chain management in the fresh produce industry.

AG1, which operates across six continents with a user network apparently handling over 2.5m tonnes of fruit, said the acquisition would expand its global reach and enhance its ability to deliver integrated solutions for agricultural supply chains, from farmer to retailer.

“We are excited to welcome the LogisticDocuments.com team to AG1,” said Greg Whitaker, the company’s CEO. “Their expertise in fresh produce logistics aligns with our vision to connect and streamline the agri-food sector. Together, we will drive innovation and provide more value across the supply chain.”

LogisticDocuments.com specialises in digitising logistics workflows for fresh produce shippers, to enhance operational excellence and scalability.

The acquisition is set to allow AG1 to integrate these capabilities into its existing solutions.

AG1 and LogisticDocuments.com both grew out of the fresh produce industry. AG1’s first customer was South African grower Limpopo Citrus, while LogisticDocuments.com’s original client was Dutch service provider and importer Olympic Food Group (OFG).

OFG is understood to have invested in the company at the outset, but has now reportedly sold its stake to AG1.

“We look forward to joining AG1,” said David Van den Heuvel, CEO and co-owner of LogisticDocuments.com. “With our combined strengths we can help fresh produce farmers, shippers, retail service providers and retailers tackle strategic level challenges like operational excellence and scalability, but also emerging topics like ESG reporting (CSRD) and product availability.”

According to AG1, the acquisition highlights its commitment to addressing industry challenges like food waste, traceability, and supply chain sustainability.

To that end, it said it would continue to invest in “data-driven solutions that empower supply chain stakeholders through automation and insights”.
