Supervalu is asking potential buyers to come forward and submit a bid for the entire business, accrding to a report by Bloomberg published by Planet Retail.
The US grocery retailer has already seen interest in one or more of its operations, including Albertsons and the Shoppers chain.
It follows a move by Supervalu in July to hire Goldman Sachs and Greenhill & Co. to find a buyer.
