Dutch retailer Super de Boer has reported an increase in year-on-year net sales for the third quarter of 2008, up to €373m from €369m during 2007.
Consumer sales remained level compared with the previous year at €470m, while sales per store jumped from €115,734 per week to €126,749 per week – an increase of 9.5 per cent.
Like-for-like sales growth also improved, to 4.2 per cent during the third quarter compared with 2.1 per cent in 2007.
'We are pleased with this performance,' said Super de Boer chief executive officer Jan Brouwer. 'Super de Boer is on course and moving in the right direction.'
Mr Brouwer added that the group will further strengthen its position in 2008 by modernising and extending around 40 stores, rolling out its new format concept, intensifying local marketing and expanding the Super de Boer brand.
