Sun World has announced the appointment of Rudy Heras to the role of category director of Mexican table grapes and peppers.
Heras has over 25 years of experience in the fresh produce industry, including domestic and export table grape sales, and has been with Sun World for three years.
As well as serving in his new position, Heras will maintain his role as a sales key account executive for Sun World.
“Our Mexico growers are key allies in our supply strategy for grapes and peppers,” said Gordon Robertson, Sun World’s senior vice-president of sales and marketing.
“Rudy has demonstrated strong business acumen and in-depth knowledge of our markets and categories that will help ensure that we are delivering on both our customers’ and growers’ expectations during the Mexico season.”
Sun World said it is currently offering blocky bell peppers, the sweet and mild elongated Le Rouge Royale-branded and Le Jaune Royale-branded peppers and its newest offer Sweet Mini Peppers in both 1lb and 2lb grab-and-go bags.
Beginning in May, Sun World will source a steady volume from Mexico of Superior Seedless-branded, Midnight Beauty-branded and Flame Seedless table grapes.
Sun World markets over 10m cartons of fresh produce worldwide, including a range of proprietary and public seedless grapes, sweet peppers, stonefruits and other distinctive fruits and vegetables.
