Fresh produce packer-marketer Sun World International has announced the appointment of Claudio Olave as its new director of quality assurance and food safety.
Olave joins the group from Chilean group Decofrut, where he served for over 14 years as the US managing director, covering a number of quality assurance-related roles.
In his new position, Olave will oversee quality standards and inspection protocols for Sun World's grape, pepper, stonefruit and citrus ranges, and will be responsible for implementing new technologies, processes and packaging materials that enhance product quality and shelf life.
Olave will also oversee the Company’s food safety programme, including the coordination of all third-party audits, compliance with all federal, state, local and customer specific food safety requirements, and consumer-unit and PTI traceability efforts, Sun World revealed.
