Anglia Business Solutions has reported on a successful trading year in 2010, with turnover up 28 per cent year-on-year, backed by strong profitability.

According to the group, which provides supply chain expertise to a number of leading fresh produce groups such as Capespan and Fyffes, the results highlighted the success of continued investment in the company's vertical applications, as well as the growth of Microsoft Dynamic solutions.

'2010 was a year of exceptional achievement for the business,' said managing director David Hurley. 'We won 12 new LINKFresh contracts which increased our LINKFresh license revenue by 350 per cent. We also continued our ambitious investment R&D program in the LINKFresh product suite – this was highlighted by the recent release of LINKFresh 3 which increased the functionality by 33 per cent.

'These have resonated well with companies in the fresh food sector where we have significantly expanded our market share,' he added. 'Customers have reported how the unique LINKFresh suite has helped them to compete in the global fresh food sector using real time information as a competitive aid.'

Anglia also won prestigious LINKFresh contracts in the US, Canada, Sweden and South Africa, indicating the future export potential of the technology. Furthermore, as the Microsoft Dynamics NAV suite continues its impressive global growth, further opportunities are emerging from the 150 countries where that product is deployed, Anglia noted.

'The 2010 commercial results facilitated major additional R&D investments out of cash flow as well as expanding the workforce,' Hurley continued. 'We now have a world-class product and a highly experienced team of consultants and developers with considerable fresh food deployment expertise. We are therefore well positioned to expand our activities across all sections of the diverse fresh food sector.'
