More than 450 exhibitors drawn from across Spain and the globe’s leading fruit and vegetable production centres will take part in Spanish trade fair Fruit Attraction 2010, which is due to begin tomorrow (20 October).
The event, which has been moved from 4-6 November to 20-22 October for its second edition, will feature a greater representation of leading Spanish countries from all major producing regions, including Valencia, Andalusia, Murcia and Catalonia.
International companies will also be present in increased numbers, with the countries represented including Italy, France, Portugal, Mexico, Argentina and the Netherlands.
According to its co-organisers, Spanish producer-exporter federation Fepex and exhibition specialist Ifema, it is hoped that Fruit Attraction will become a “meeting point” for producers, service providers and distributors, as well as a forum for highlighting new trends and innovation in all areas related to the fruit and vegetable sector.
This year’s edition will be supported by a wide-reaching programme of seminars, forums and conferences, covering topics ranging from the efficiency measures that the US fresh produce sector has put in place to energy efficiency in greenhouses.
Fruit Attraction 2010 will feature for the first time an Innovation Forum where leading companies, including Rijk Zwaan, Primaflor and DO Pera de Lleida, will host seminars highlighting new developments at their respective businesses.
In collaboration with Apoexpa, the event will also play host to Grape Attraction, an international trade forum focused on the table grape sector, which will aim to bring together top exporters to discuss their visions for future growth.
With an eye on encouraging greater consumption of fruit and vegetables, Fruit Attraction will also play host to the second edition of Fruit Fusion, an event that features notable chefs giving demonstrations on how best to prepare some of the products on display.
Fruit Attraction will take place from 20-22 October in pavilion 10 of the Feria de Madrid conference centre in Madrid, Spain.
