More than 1,000 delegates from the international soft fruit industry will gather in Huelva next week for the fourth edition of the International Soft Fruit Congress.
The themes of this year’s conference, which takes place on 20 and 21 June, is research into new berry varieties, as well as the opportunities offered by new markets such as Asia and the Middle East.
At an event held last week to launch the conference, Alberto Garrocho, president of congress organiser Freshuelva, provided an overview of this year’s programme.
The conference kicks off with a keynote presentation by well-known economist José María O’Kean, who will tackle the new challenges and opportunities facing the berry industry.
The programme also features speakers from China, Dubai, Germany, Argentina and the US, among other countries, on a range of issues to further to advance the development of Huelva’s soft fruit sector and improve the quality of its offer.
The congress provides the opportunity Huelva to showcase its entire range of high quality soft fruit, as well as enabling the transfer of knowledge and experiences between different producer countries.
