The consumption of fresh produce in Spanish households fell in both volume and value terms during the month of October, according to figures from the Panel on Food Consumption at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Fruit and vegetable consumption dropped 0.6 per cent in volume terms when compared with the same month on 2012, down to 737,400 tonnes, and 0.2 per cent in value to €1.01bn.

In value terms, both fruit and vegetables saw falls, of 0.7 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
