Exports to France, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands all increased in January
Spanish fruit and vegetable export value increased 11 per cent in January when compared with the same month of 2024, coming in at €1.94bn.
The EU accounted for 81 per cent of the total, or €1.569bn, according to data from the Customs and Excise Department, processed by Fepex.
Exports to Germany reached €581mn, a 14 per cent year-on-year increase, while to France they rose 9 per cent to €298mn.
Shipments to the UK climbed to €253mn, and to the Netherlands they jumped 11 per cent to €175mn.
In terms of volume, fresh produce exports for the month amounted to 1.2mn tonnes, 7 per cent higher than the prior-year period.
Of this, 1mn tonnes went to the EU, 83 per cent of the total.
Germany imported 361,623 tonnes, an increase of 9 per cent, with 361,623 tonnes sent to France (up 9 per cent).
Finally, 143,589 tonnes went to the UK, yearly growth of 6 per cent, and 106,163 tonnes went to the Netherlands, rising 7 per cent.
