Major Spanish pepper and cucumber exporter Nature Choice has announced that it recorded a turnover of €40m for 2010, thanks largely to growing demand for its products in the Nordic countries.
The agricultural group, which is based in El Ejido, Almeria, last year produced approximately 50,000 tonnes of fresh products from more than 420ha of company-owned land in the eastern Andalusian province.
Nature Choice managing director Antonio Romero told regional daily Diario de Almería that the company, which also produces melons and tomatoes, was likely to achieve a similar result this year, thanks in part to the ongoing success of its mini snack cucumbers.
The company’s principal export destination is the Nordic region, followed by Central Europe and North America.
