Food retailer Magnit has revealed this week that net retail sales jumped by 51.2 per cent in rouble terms for January when compared with the same month of 2010.
During the first month of 2011, the Russian group's sales increased to some R23.5bn (€586m), up from the R15.6bn (€389m) recorded last year, Reuters reported.
In dollar terms, the group's sales grew 50.5 per cent to US$781.4m, Magnit noted.
January saw the opening of 30 new Magnit stores, compared with the 19 launched in the same month last year.
