Sligro Food Group has reported that its yearly result climbed 4.2 per cent for the entirety of 2009, the improvement meaning that net profit hit €74m for the 12-month period.
It followed an earlier announcement this month that sales had increased by 4.2 per cent to hit €2.26bn during 2009, with the group's share of the retail market standing at 2.7 per cent, according to Reuters.
The Netherlands-based company, which operates retail chains and has wholesaleoperations, reported that sales at stores open at least a yearrose 5.1 percent in 2009.
For the last three months of 2009, Sligro's sales rose 9.5percent to 623 million euros, the group reported.
