Major Chinese fresh produce distributor Sino Green Land Corporation has more than doubled the size of its Metro Green distribution hub in Guangzhou with the opening of a new building.
The new 275,000ft2 (25,500m2) building brings Sino Green Land’s DC capacity to 605,000ft2 (56,200m2), the company said, and will handle the ‘Green Food’ category of raw or lightly processed produce.
“Our decision to increase the size of our Green Food distribution hub from one building with two floors encompassing 220,000ft2, to two buildings with three floors each and encompassing a total of approximately 605,000ft2, was driven by demand from distributors and wholesalers we have spoken with over the past year,” announced Sino Green Land’s CEO Xiong Luo.
“We are extremely encouraged by the outlook for the new Green Food distribution hub as we seek to become the leading distributor of Green Foods nationwide.”
In concert with the DC expansion, Sino Green Land has also completed a US$8.4m price placement, issuing 40m shares of common stock.
Since opening its doors in 2003, Sino Green Land has become one of China’s largest distributors of fresh fruits and vegetables, focusing particularly on Fuji apples, tangerines and Emperor bananas.
