Carrefour

Carrefour chief executive Lars Olofsson is coming under pressure from the retailer's main shareholders according to media in France.

A report by Le Figaro suggested that Colony Capital and Groupe Arnault wanted to replace Olofsson following numerous profit warnings and strategy alterations, as well as a number of senior personnel changes at the French group.

Colony and Groupe Arnault, which own a total 16.15 per cent of Carrefour, have been speaking with Georges Plassat of clothing retailer Vivarte for several months, Le Figaro reported.

However, Carrefour's board will give Olofsson until the end of the year to demonstrate progress and ensure the group hits its annual targets, Reuters noted.
