US-based Seven Seas is anticipating taking on greater volumes of Morocco-grown clementines this season, with the first shipments set to arrive at the end of October.
Bill Weyland, vice-president of imports at the Tom Lange Co. subsidiary, told The Packer that quality is expected to be high this season.
'The weather has been quite favourable,' Mr Weyland told the publication. 'The temperatures haven't been as high, and the fruit hasn't been under a lot of stress.'
Fruit should be larger and of a higher quality than in 2009, he added, while also noting that he felt Morocco offered a better range of clementine varieties than the winter category leader Spain.
