France's port of Sète experienced a drop in global traffic of 2 per cent in 2012 to 3.5m tonnes, according to Marc Chevallier, president of Port Sud de France, which manages the platform.
The fruit terminal continues to suffer the effects of Israeli exporter Agrexco's collapse back in 2011, WK Transport-Logistique reported, with new customers still sought by the port.
Nevertheless, the port has forecast an increase in stopovers in 2013, from 20 in 2012 to 32 this year, while restructuring plans are continuing in order to shorten the length of stopovers.
