The French school programme designed to improve health and boost fruit consumption is set to be extended to secondary schools, according to Fld.
'Un fruit pour la récré', or 'One fruit for the break', has reportedly been highly successful with primary schools, and now the government wishes to expand it to older children.
A national competition will be held to come up with a new name for the programme that is more suitable for adolescents.
In addition, the scheme has been made less strict, with single classes now able to sign up without the whole school having to be involved.
