Italian soft fruit and cherry specialist Sant'Orsola has reappointed Silvio Bertoldi as the company's president for the coming three years.

Mr Bertoldi is one of the cooperative's main suppliers and has been a member of the Sant'Orsola cooperative for more than 17 years.

He was nominated president in 2008, succeeding Federico Oss, who led the organisation for a total of 14 years.

The group's management board also opted to extend the appointment of a number of other key figures heading up the cooperative.

Gioacchino Trentinaglia will continue as its vice-president, while Albino Leonardi and Flavio Eccher are set to carry on as president and member of the management control board respectively.

Simon Valentini, Cristian Zampedri and Maurizio Bertoldi will continue to act as advisers.

'The management board's vote is an expression of stability, calmness and strength,' commented Michele Scrinzi, director of Sant'Orsola. 'We are very happy with this outcome, which rewards all the efforts of the cooperative's management, which in recent months has known how to face the difficult national economic situation effectively and decisively.'

Turnover at Cooperativa Sant'Orsola during 2009 exceeded €51m – up 1 per cent on the previous year's result – with more than 6,500 tonnes of fresh fruit marketed during the course of the 12-month period.
