This coming Sunday (16 October) will see the Santa Catarina become the first of Hamburg Süd's Santa container class to call at the Port of Hamburg in Germany, berthing at the Burchardkai terminal.
The vessel, which features a slot capacity of 7,100 TEU and is fitted with 1,600 reefer slots, is one of the largest ever built for Hamburg Süd and is the third in the Santa class put into service.
A total of seven Santa class ships have been delivered to date, with six of these deployed on the service between Asia and South Africa/South America East Coast.
The Santa Catarina is the first ship of this series to be phased into the service between Europe and South America East Coast, and now to call at Hamburg.
