SanLucar is teaming up with the German Business School FEDA Madrid to bring a tailor-made educational programme for future professionals in wholesale and foreign trade to Spain for the first time.
In September, SanLucar’s headquarters in Valencia will host a school providing vocational education for young people wishing to carve out a career in the fruit and vegetable sector.
At the end of a two-year course, which combines theory with work experience, students will receive a qualification from the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain, AHK.
The company said the programme was another major step forward in its social commitment to education.
“This alternative to the traditional vocational training and university studies allows a more immediate contact with the working environment,” the company said, adding that the dual vocational training model has an excellent reputation in Germany, where youth unemployment is at 7 per cent.
“From day one, students will combine theory and practice within the company. With the dual training in wholesale and foreign trade we want to encourage the next generation of specialists and future managers in the world of commerce and logistics within the fruit and vegetable sector,” said Nils Ahmad, manager of the SanLucar Academy.
