The first seven months of 2010 has seen a huge jump in the volume of Peruvian tangerines heading to the Russian market, with exports up 104.8 per cent to hit US$459,500, or 504.5 tonnes.
According to figures released by Promperú, exports to the Netherlands and Ireland also enjoyed growth, climbing by 138.1 per cent and 96.8 per cent respectively, agraria.pe reported.
In total, overseas sales of Peru's tangerines increased 37 per cent year-on-year through the January-July period, at a total of 24,800 tonnes or US$22m.
