In the presence of Stéphane Layani, president of Paris-based Rungis market, Jérôme Bonaldi, president of the board of food bank network Andes, and Louis Omer-Decugis, president of the supervisory board of Omer-Decugis & Fils, signed a partnership agreement with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the groups.
Three main challenges for the partnership were highlighted: the fight against food waste, access to a healthy, balanced diet for all, and social inclusion through return to work.
This agreement, under the auspices of Rungis’s management, Semmaris, comes after several years of close collaboration between Andes and Omer-Decugis & Fils, which resulted in the integration of nine permanent employees through Rungis’s Potager de Marianne waste management section.
Layani, a fervent supporter of Andes, stressed the importance of the agreement. He also expressed his delight at bringing together the market’s oldest family business and one of the most promising associations for the social and solidarity economy.
'This magnificent project is a partnership between Andes and family business Omer Decugis & Fils, built around strong values of solidarity and social protection,” said Bonaldi. “These values are now being shared with Andes to promote integration and social cohesion.”
