Increased volumes of Royal Sanguina expected following strong demand from European retailers
Spain’s Royal said it is anticipating a strong start to its 2023 campaign. A cold snap in January and February has delayed the start of the season compared to earlier campaigns, but the dry hot weather in March has allowed for optimum ripening, the Seville-based company reports.
Royal said it expects to harvest top-quality fruit that will meet market expectations and satisfy consumer needs. The first yellow peaches will be on supermarket shelves soon, followed in successive weeks by the rest of the varieties.
The company said it is ramping up production of its Royal Sanguina nectarine due to strong demand from European retailers. The variety is one several new offerings designed to create a stir among consumers and provide products with a high nutritional content.
“These are aspects that are increasingly in demand in the food consumption trends of recent years, hence the desire to provide new tasty and nutritious alternatives to the consumer,” the company said.
