Germany's federal disease control centre has declared the recent outbreak of E.coli in the country to be over.
The Robert Koch Institute reported that the last case was recorded three weeks ago, an amount of time that covers E.coli's incubation period.
The institute will continue its monitoring programme for a highly virulent strain of the diesase that has killed 52 people – 50 of them in Germany – and caused illness in more than 4,000 others since May.
