Renzo Piraccini

The board of directors of Italian fresh produce marketing and research agency CSO has confirmed the resignation of Renzo Piraccini as its managing director and the appointment of Mario Tamanti as his replacement.

The move represented a significant 'changing of the guard' said a spokesperson for the group, coming as it did more than a decade on from Mr Piraccini's own appointment as head of the organisation.

'These 12 years have been an extraordinary experience, both from a professional point of view and from a human perspective,' commented Mr Piraccini, who remains managing director of leading Italian fresh produce company Apofruit Italia. 'For this I must thank CSO president Paolo Bruni, who has shared this long journey with me, my fellow board members, director Luciano Trentini and all the group's employees.'

Mr Piraccini said he was proud to have been able to contribute to the establishment of 'a centre of excellence, with high standards and efficiency, which over the years has become a real meeting point for the whole sector.'
