David Lloyd is leaving his position as managing director at UK-based supplier Mack Multiples, to be replaced by former Red Bull boss and ex-Sainsbury’s buyer Nigel Trood.
Lloyd has worked for the supermarket supplier for 20 years, joining as finance director and becoming MD in 2006.
Fresca Group executive chairman Chris Mack described him as “a strong leader `who` has overseen significant developments, managing growth and keeping our business competitive in a difficult, changing marketplace.”
Mackadded: “The time has now come to pass the reins on, and I want to thankDavid for the enormous contribution he has made to our business.”
Troodjoins Fresca next week and will take on responsibility for overseeing MMG Citrus and DGM Growers as well as managing Mack Multiples.
He spent 12 years at Sainsbury’s from 1988-99, moving from buyer to category manager for produce, before joining Red Bull UK in 2002, where as managing director from 2007 he is credited with helping drive the growthof the high-profile energy drink.
Trood will continue his work asa non-executive director at Global Ethics, a not-for-profit ethical goods business that funds clear water, health and sanitation projects inAfrica.
Mack also announced that Ian Craig, the managing directorof Thanet Earth Marketing, has been appointed as deputy group chief executive, which will see his involvement in other areas of the group’s business increase over time.
