A record-breaking 68 Chilean exporters participated at Fruit Logistica this year; based at the 240m2 Chilean pavilion in Hall 25.
The 133-strong Chilean delegation was headed by Ronald Bown, chairman of the board of the Chilean Fresh Fruit Exporters Association (Asoex), the Ambassador of Chile in Germany, Jorge O’Ryan and the general manager of the Chilean Federation of Fruit Growers (Fedefruta), Juan Carlos Sepulveda.
The association chiefs were joined by representatives from all sectors of the fresh fruit industry in Chile, as well as the country’s trade bodies and organisations which support the fresh fruit sector’s activities in Europe, according to a press release from the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association (CFFA).
In particular, the general managers of the citrus, kiwifruit, avocado and blueberry committees – which represent 80-90 per cent of the export volume of their specific products – were on hand to meet with visitors.
This year also marked the first visit to Fruit Logistica for Carlos Cruzat, who recently took over as general manager of the Chilean Kiwifruit Committee, CFFA said.
Mr Cruzat has spent spells as general manager at exporters Subsole and Safex and joined the Chilean Kiwifruit Committee after a period working as a consultant for the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture.
