Russian retailer Magnit has enjoyed an improved second quarter (Q2) of 2010 when compared with the same period last year, as like-for-like sales climbed 7.6 per cent after a 2.9 per cent rise in the first quarter.
Net retail sales through the three-month period grew 38.8 per cent in ruble terms to R18.6bn (€476m), after 35.4 per cent growth in May.
Traffic through the group's outlets climbed 3.6 per cent year-on-year, including a 3.4 per cent rise at convenience stores and an 11.6 per cent jump at hypermarkets, Magnit said.
Net retail sales for the first six months of the year climbed 32 per cent to hit R103.6bn (€2.65bn), the group noted.
