Pure Hot House Foods has announced in a press release the acquisition of a new distribution centre and packing house in San Antonio, Texas.
The new facility has been operational since the start of the Mexican and Central American growing season this autumn (fall) and will help with shipping and packing from its Mexican grower partners.
“With quality and taste as driving factors, we’re excited about this new location and the opportunity to provide our customers freshly picked product with reduced food miles,” said Jamie Moracci, president of Pure Hot House Foods.
“This new location will allow us to ship quickly from our Mexican and Central American greenhouses partners to retailers across the US and Canada with increased control over quality and packaging operations and with less time from harvest to market.”
The acquisition comes at a time when Pure Hot House Foods is expanding its Mexican partner grower acreage.
The company claims its new distribution centre is therefore in an ideal location given its proximity to both the firm’s Mexican growing regions and its southern and central US customer base.
