Publix

In the US, Publix is reportedly trialling a new system that allows customers to order groceries online or by telephone before having them delivered to their cars.

The retailer has dubbed the service 'Publix Curbside', according to a report in the Miami Herald, and is being tested at two stores located in Atlanta and Tampa.

Customers in Atlanta have been given a dedicated drive-through lane to collect their shopping by car, while orders in Tampa are being delivered to designated parking spaces set aside for those using the Curbside system.

The service costs US$7.99, with Publix set to monitor the success of the initiative at the stores over the nest year.
