Florida retailer Publix has announced in a statement a 3.5 per cent rise in its 2010 third-quarter sales to US$6bn, compared with US$5.8bn last year, alongside a 2.7 per cent increase in comparable store sales.
During the quarter, Publix said its net earnings reached US$283.2m, up 11.1 per cent from US$254.9m in 2009.
Earnings per share also rose to US$0.36 for the third quarter of 2010, against US$0.32 per share last year.??
Publix’s sales for the first nine months of 2010 were US$18.8bn, a 3 per cent increase from last year’s US$18.2bn.
Comparable-store sales for the first nine months of 2010 grew 1.9 per cent.??
Net earnings for the first nine months of 2010 were US$996m, compared with US$877.3m in 2009, an increase of 13.5 per cent.
Earnings per share increased to US$1.27 for the first nine months of 2010, up from US$1.11 per share in 2009.?
