Cencosud has revealed that its net profit for the second quarter dropped to CLP70.86bn (US$149m) from the CLP79.39bn (US$167m) recorded last year, the result of a 'non-recurrent financial transaction', Planet Retail reported.
Sales climbed to CLP1.87tn (US$3.79bn), the group noted, up from CLP1.49tn (US$3.13bn) last year.
The group's CEO, Daniel Rodriguez, has previously stated that the retailer could achieve sales of over US$14bn for the full year.
