Spanish fresh produce exporters’ association Proexport, which represents 53 leading groups in the region of Murcia, has signed an agreement with leading bank Cajamurcia that it says will allow its members to benefit from special financial products and services.
Under the terms of the deal, Proexport’s members will have access to commercial discounts, as well as financial advances, grants, and credit and loans at “very low” rates of interest.
The association also emphasised that, in addition to the fresh produce groups, more than 3,000 associated producers and their workers would have access to the benefits available under the agreement.
In a statement, Proexport president Juan Marín said: “Faced with the current financial situation, it is particularly relevant for Proexport that the principal financial body in this region signs such an ambitious agreement under which our associated companies can benefit from financial services that ensure liquidity and economic security.”
