Posie Packer Corporation, a Canadian agri-machine manufacturer, has announced in a press release the launch of a new produce bag labelling machine for wicketed and non wicketed produce bags.
“This durable, cost effective machine will provide the missing link in getting the required time sensitive information label (traceability, COOL, pull date from store shelf, and best before date), on the plastic bags used for selling fresh fruits and vegetables to the consumer,” the company said.
“Furthermore, during the same machine cycle, a second merchandising label can also be applied to the bags.”
The modular format used in this strictly electro-mechanical machine allows it to be easily customised for a particular sized plastic bag or required label location, according to the manufacturer.
The company added that the machine also allows fruit and vegetable packers to use their existing automatic bag filling equipment, thereby “minimising the costs associated with meeting today’s need for food safety and product traceability”.
