In Germany, the port of Hamburg has described the opening three months of 2017 as 'good', with total throughput up by 1.7 per cent at 35.4m tonnes.
According to the report, growth in Germany’s largest universal port was slightly above the average 1.6 per cent for the other major north range ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Bremen/Bremerhaven.
At 2.2m TEUs, first-quarter container throughput was 0.7 per cent lower than in the comparable period of the previous year.
