Tesco has announced that it is planning to open around 13 new stores in Poland by the end of February 2010, taking it's total for the fiscal year to approximately 25 new outlets.
The UK-based retail giant has already launched 12 stores in the eastern European country this year, across cities such as Lodzi, Biskupcu, Radzyminie, Czarnej Bialostockiej, Parczewie, Pruszczu Gdanskim, Turku, Pulawach, Przemyslu, Lubaqie and Elku, foodbizdaily reported.
One outlet, located in Lodz, has been closed following underperformance, Tesco said.
The retailer currently operates 320 stores and 3 distribution centres in Poland, stocking mainly local brands alongside the major multinational labels.
