PMA

The PMA has elected a string of new directors for the 2008/09 board and 22 directors for the 2008/09 retail division, led by Dave Corsi of Wegmans and Anthony Barbieri of Acme Markets respectively, according to a report by The Packer.

“Dave Corsi has already made a tremendous impact on our industry and this association,” PMA president Bryan Silbermann said in a statement.

“He’s a tireless champion with a focus on what consumers want, what the global produce community needs and how we should connect the two more seamlessly. As chairman of PMA’s Strategy Team, Dave has also put his mark on PMA’s future direction.”

Joining Mr Corsi are chairman-elect Bill Schuler, president and CEO of Castellini Co.; secretary and treasurer Mike O’Brien, vice-president of produce and floral, Schnuck Markets; and the chairman of the executive committee Bruce Taylor, chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms California.

In addition, there are 23 directors joining the 2008/09 board:
