In a bid to reach out to international members and the industry as a whole, the US Produce Marketing Association (PMA) has revealed that it will have an increased presence at Fruit Logistica 2010, which takes place in Berlin, Germany, on 3-5 February.

Members attending the event include vice-president of global business development Nancy Tucker, director of global business development Richard Owen, director of member relations Paula Gonzalez and vice-president of marketing Kelly Koczak.

'We have partners and members worldwide, and look forward to welcoming many of them to our reception celebrating the association's global scope.'

Exhibiting in Hall 23, booth C-01, PMA will host the reception on Day 2 of the event from 4pm-6pm, with the aim of bringing together leaders throughout the global produce community.

The reception takes place in conjunction with industry partners KPG Solutions Inc., Macro Plastics, Purfresh, The Packer and Washington Apple Commission.

'Join us for an opportunity to meet PMA members and potential members, see old friends, forge new contacts and learn about advancements in PMA initiatives to build and strengthen our industry,' Ms Tucker added.

Meanwhile, PMA has revealed that group president and CEO Bryan Silbermann will lead the upcoming Fresh Connections event, which takes place in San Antonio on 4 February 2010.

The event will offer a personal and interactive forum with Mr Silbermann, with the opportunity to discuss with attendees what the 'state of the industry' means to their individual businesses and the industry as a whole.

'Challenges inherent to today's new economy combined with rapidly evolving produce industry have created a world where supply chain success depends on the industry's ability to connect with peers and new ideas,' said Mr Silbermann. 'Fresh Connections: San Antonio provides an important forum for me to share with as well as gather valuable insight from PMA members and other industry professionals about issues impacting their businesses.'
