Pink Lady apples enjoyed a particularly strong first part of the 2012/13 campaign, according to a press release from Pink Lady Europe, in a season that was marked by lower volumes.
The company reported a decline in volume of 20 per cent compared with the previous year, with quantities standing at 110,000 tonnes.
However, prior to Valentine's Day, sales experienced a solid increase despite the fierce competition on the apple market during the first two months of the campaign.
According to Pink Lady Europe, such a performance demonstrates that European demand for Pink Lady apples remains strong.
