Faces of Fresh Produce celebrates key role people play in global fresh produce business
People from all over the world of fresh produce are featured in a photo exhibition that is on display for the first time at Fruit Logistica.
“Without people, fresh fruits and vegetables count for very little,” explains Chris White of Fruitnet. “It is the people in every part of our business who make things happen. And we celebrate these men and women in Faces of Fresh Produce.”
The free exhibition can be seen on stand A-61 in Hall 27 at Fruit Logistica in Berlin, from 7-9 February 2024.
“We are very pleased to have this exhibition at Fruit Logistica,” says event director Kai Mangelberger. “This is what our trade show is all about. It’s a big meeting of many faces of fresh produce. It fits very well indeed.”
Faces Of Fresh Produce is a project developed by Fruitnet Media International with London-based photographer Yves Salmon.
Chris White has worked as journalist in the fresh fruit and vegetable business since 1988. The men and women featured in the exhibition are among the thousands of fresh produce people he has met and interviewed during those 35 years.
Yves Salmon is a professional photographer known primarily for her portraiture and works in the corporate, editorial, and arts sectors. She is also at a regular at the international film festivals in Cannes and Venice to photograph film talent.
“Yves was commissioned to take portraits in Berlin and Hong Kong in 2019,” explains White. “Fruitnet then published a book of some 70 photo portraits and brought the first copies to Berlin in February 2020. Then the pandemic happened and it stopped people from meeting for almost three years. So we’re so very grateful for Fruit Logistica’s support in helping to make this exhibition happen at last.”
Visitors to exhibition can also take their own selfie at a special photo booth set up for the occasion by Fruit Logistica.
