Florida-based Southern Specialties has announced that it will begin shipping its Peruvian-grown Southern Selects Regal artichokes this week, marking the third season that the company has marketed the medium-sized premium artichokes to retailers and foodservice distributors across the US.
“Regal artichokes have been a real winner for us,” said Charlie Eagle, vice-president of business development for the company. 'The purple colouration is a sign of sweetness and also the inspiration for the Regal name. They have great flavour, require less preparation and offer shorter cook times than many artichokes.”
Regal artichokes are shipped in clear, four-count bags that incorporate performance technology, the group said.
The high graphic label has nutritional call outs and cooking instructions in both English and French for the domestic and Canadian markets, while Regal artichokes are also available in 10lb bulk cases that are ideal for foodservice customers and bulk retail displays.
