Shipments were suspended in 2015/16, during which 7,130 tonnes were exported
Peru will start exporting table grapes to Ecuador once again after signing of an agreement between Senasa and Agrocalidad, the respective plant health authorities of the two countries at a recent bilateral meeting in Tumbes.
Shipments were suspended in the 2015/16 season, during which 7,130 tonnes were exported.
The move, which opens up a market of 18m consumers to Peruvian producers, is part of wider talks to promote exports of products of mutual interest to the two countries. The health authorities have also agreed to continue bilateral technical meetings to reestablish exports of fresh Peruvian onions to the Ecuadorean market.
