NYK has announced the appointment of Peter Keller to the position of executive vice-president and chief operating officer of NYK Group Americas, effective 1 April 2009.
In this capacity Peter will work with Tony Nozaki, president & CEO of NYK Group Americas, in providing group wide oversight and policy direction to the operating companies of NYK Group Americas.
Replacing Peter as president of NYK Line (North America) Inc. will be Tomoo Kitayama. Mr Kitayama has most recently served as executive vice-president and has many years of broad experience in the International Liner trades with NYK.
Also effective April 1, 2009, William (Bill) Payne will assume the position of executive vice-president & chief operating officer of NYK Line (North America), Inc.
Bill, who most recently held the position of SVP Trade, has 20 years’ experience with NYK having served in leadership positions in Trade, Operations, and Sales in various locations around the US.
All of these leadership positions will continue to be domiciled at NYK Group Headquarters in Secaucus, New Jersey.
