Pandol

US-based table grape grower-shipper Pandol Bros Inc. has let go eight of its employees following a technology modernisation project that has seen the introduction of a new computer platform and more streamlined procedures.

As part of the shake-up, vice-president of sales Anthony Stetson, who has been with the group since 1995, and director of marketing and business development Tristan Kieva have exited Pandol, The Packer reported.

John Pandol told the publication that while it was 'sad' that the group had parted with some of its employees, the new platform would allow Pandol to do better work with fewer people.

'With the needs of the produce traceability initiative and the demands of retail customers today, we found it every day more difficult to tweak the old systems,' he noted. 'It was time to start over from scratch.'
