Swiss freight forwarder Panalpina is in talks for a tie-up with Kuwaiti logistics provider Agility, a deal that will help it fend off interest from Danish transport and logistics firm DSV, according to press reports.
The talks are at a preliminary stage and Panalpina is still reviewing an unsolicited US$4bn takeover offer from DSV, Panalpina said in a statement today (15 February).
Negotiations about combining Panalpina and Agility are backed by Panalpina’s biggest shareholder, the Ernst Goehner Foundation, Panalpina sources told the press.
