Exports of fresh fruit from Pakistan soared by nearly 50 per cent during the first quarter of the fiscal year, when compared with the same period of 2012.
According to figures from the Bureau of Statistics published by the Associated Press of Pakistan, fruit shipments grew 44.64 per cent on a year-on-year basis through July-September.
In value terms, this represented some US$92m of fruit exports, versus US$63.6m in July-September 2012/13.
On a month-by-month basis, fruit exports climbed by 19.6 per cent in September when compared with August.
